In our opinion the First Lady hardly gets her styling wrong these day, and her fabulously elegant yet simple dress, worn to Wednesday’s naturalization ceremony at the National Archives continues her winning streak.
And it’s all the more lovely because Tanya Taylor is yet another up-and-coming designer Michelle Obama has put in the spotlight since she stepped into it herself. It’s such a consciously fabulous way to give a boost to the little man (and woman), and in an era of strong celebrity culture, we wish more stars would do this.
This is only Taylor’s fifth collection, so she must be thrilled to receive the breakthrough that many on her shoes will be dreaming about, reportedly only being aware of it when Mrs. O posted a picture of herself at the ceremony on her Instagram page. You couldn’t make it up.
We’re loving Taylor’s current SS14 collection which is light and colourful, with a sophisticated combination of prints and stripes on simple, flattering silhouettes. See below for more of the collection.
