You and I know it’ll be a lot more than that. There’ll be fabulous food, vibrant fashion, stimulating workshops for the kids, and spectacular music you won’t resist dancing to – all in all, a day not to be forgotten – or missed!
Africa on the Square is organised by the Mayor of London for Black History Month 2014. BoJo’s brought it back after a very successful event was hosted by Mayor Ken Livingston several years back – and we aren’t complaining.
The event will repeat most features that the crowds loved about the last one: live music from Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat Experience, Aar Maanta and many more, as well as performances from African drummers, acrobats and dancers, and a talent show for young people.
There’ll also be an African fashion show, food stalls, a market selling Africa themed goods and products and free family workshops where you can try everything from batik to mosaic making.
Not to miss out on a good thing, Sapelle will of course be there with our very own marquee. We’ll have a selection of our most fun festival pieces and accessories on sale. Be sure to come down and take part in the fun – and come see us too.
Starts at 12 – see you there!
