Sáfójò, a London based brand that specialises in infusing vibrant colour and ethnic character to umbrellas – one of the most overlooked fashion accessories – has released a new Maasai warrior inspired design for the AW2014 season.
The new design, named ‘MORAN’, is inspired by the Maasai warriors of Southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania and represents the strength and prowess of African men as well as a proud, enduring and uncompromised connection with African roots, beliefs and values. It boasts exciting detail and cool ethnic colours, symbolic of the Autumn/Winter season.
At Sáfójò, in addition to producing uniquely stylish designs of African heritage, ‘durability is of utmost importance with all our products’, said proprietor Sarah Teibo. As with all Sáfójò umbrellas, this new design comes as a foldable, windproof umbrella that would fit into your bag. With automatic open/ close button and fibre glass ribs to reinforce the umbrella frame in the harshest winds, users have the comfort of knowing their fashionable umbrellas would not be so easily lost to the elements.
London based Sáfójò was founded in November 2013 and its main products are African themed windproof umbrellas. Sáfójò is an expression in Yoruba – one of the most widely spoken African languages – which means to take shelter from the rain.
