I was very lucky to meet Viv Oyolu, the founder of Dream Corner and an amazing woman who’s mission is to inspire women of all ages to follow their ambitions of establishing a business.
This was at the TEDxEuston event in London in December 2012 (a great event attended by people serious about challenging conventional wisdom about Africa, which I must talk about in another post – soon!).
Viv was so interested in my story and what Sapellé is about that she invited me to a spot on the Dream Corner Interview Series. Honoured and humbled doesn’t quite describe it!
This woman has a gift. Viv’s interview felt more like a warm, relaxed, yet invigorating, chat with an old friend; and the minutes sped by. Very much like my too-infrequent visits to the spa. Basically, I think Jenny Murray has competition.
Audio content is an effective and easy way to learn about things, and the interviewee can really relax without worrying about showing their ‘good side’ or tucking in their post-Christmas bulge, and frankly, the listener is spared those distractions too. It feels wholesome. I’m such a fan also because I listen to talk radio all the time, while multi-tasking. I love multi-tasking.
This is a fantastic way for people to hear what drove me to establish Sapellé and what we’re really about – in a nutshell. Without having to read through reams of writing.
Please click here to listen, and find other inspiring stories of women who are doing some amazing stuff and fulfilling their dreams. There’s also a new series on women leaders in The City. Enjoy!
